Residence

A caged bird with an open heart advised to be protected

Lost and consumed with duties, books, and responsibilities

Broken by harsh words and disposed of by those claiming appreciation

and then you walk in key in hand

Uncompromised honesty, poetic words, and a desire for full discovery of me

Gazing into my eyes hungry for love, sensual touch, and an art for understanding

Permitting me to abandon the past, hiding from me your pain, pleasuring me with optimism

How comfortably I surrendered

How innocently I professed your residence in my heart
